Right now we are running a DSL connection for internet. We also have four POTS phone lines running to an Asterisk PBX server. Our security system is constantly monitored through the internet connection, then fails to the phone lines.

We already have the PBX to support VOIP. As it is, our phone bill with long distance dsl and 800 fees is about $400/month. The bad part is that the DSL is not real reliable.

At what point is it worth ditching the POTS lines and getting something like a T1 (or any other high speed connection)?
