my website host doesn't offer smtp, my isp doesn't allow me to send via their server unless its 'from' an email address @theirdomain .... can anyone recommend a good smtp server service?

My Wireless ISP had a flaky SMTP server and my web host will not permit more than 50 at a time.

I first went to a virtual private server that provided a private smtp server - Plesk is a typical software package used by isps

I recently changed to authsmtp as the host and they appear to be working well for the newsletter - 1,500 sent in an hour or so.

thanks for the feedback!
actually, volume sent is not really a problem .. i just need to reply to queries from the website and would prefer if the replies came from my official domain, not abc@myisp.com

You can still send through your ISP's mailserver, but set your 'From:' address to me@mywebsite.com.

Unless your ISP is picky about that, that is.

yeah andye, that's what i said originally .. the isp is picky, ie, it blocks it from going out unless the 'from' email address says anaddress@theisp.com

So you did. Sorry. :)

If you're willing to pay for it, you could use a hosted email provider, this is what we do.
