I recently switched from running my own biz to look for a job, mainly due to a client of mine F***ed all of my business.

With good track record, I easily land 3-4 offers in SEO/SEM after 2 days of job search. I saw a few jobs offering 100K+, but most jobs only between 50-80K, which is a lot of lower than what I was making being myself.

The job I am about to accept is a $60K SEO in very competitive market, but the work itself is like a piece of cake. Currently there is 0 done on SEO. 100% traffics are from PPC. I always like this kind of enviroment where I am the only know-how guy.

The package could be salary + profit sharing. All work will be done from home. So it is full time remote position.

My questions now are:
1 How much profit sharing can I ask for? 20%?
2 How long will a full time remote last? I expecte being on payroll is different from being on a 1099. All of my past works are project based, not contract/hourly, based. I am very afraid that later they will find a local guy to replace me.

If you are a really good SEO then why not seting up your own website and make $$ for yourself?
Most top SEOs i know sooner or later switch to that business model

Amen. Any good SEO would never work for someone else, and that includes client work. Make the money yourself. If you are good, you can do it.

Absolutely, with all the money that can be made online, with a few notable exceptions, any good SEO would be out there making money on their own and building online assets rather than trying to sell their labor. I'd say the SEO market by and large is full of mediocre SEOs selling services to completely clueless clients new to the net.

Yup I have to agree - working for someone else just doesn't make sense in our field.

Very few companies can afford to pay us what we can make on our own. I've given up on working for someone else and have started bidding in Adwords and am agressively working on breaking out on my own again.

My advice is take the job for now, but get to work immediately on getting your own sites up and once you have enough revenue coming in from them, say goodbye.
