I'm located in Europe and would like to learn a bit more about the US customs and preferences in business communications.

What does a typical US invoice look like, what kind of communications do US partners expect before/after closing a deal etc.

Could anybody please suggest a book or other resource?

Thanks,
Gene

I'm based in the UK, do business with US companies. Expectations in terms of business communications are very similar to the UK.

IMHO, the value proposition you offer is many times more important than the layout of your paperwork.

110% agree!

I'm from Europe, but live and do business in the USA.

The format of the paperwork in the USA is totally unimportant, as per the post above.

The content of your offering is all that counts!

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"......it might be 35 years old, but, it is still the sentiment of the USA!

Bring the game to the USA, don't expect them to want to play with you!

I think better to deal with a customer of US, you shall learn all requirement and business process in first attempt itself.
