Working for yourself as a web designer / affiliate marketer

Is better than wirking for yourself in any other sector, because...

1. You don't have to talk or explain or negotiate with clients. You can just get on with the work.

2. Your hours are unlimited. If need be you can work 24 hours around the clock.

3. You never have to wait for a client to approach you to start an assignment.

No, it's just that I have some friends who are self-employed in sectors like landscape gardening and kitchen-fitting and - self-evidently - they can never get any work until they can win some clients. Even then often the whole project gets bogged down with clients asking for different things halfway through etc.

Clearly being self-employed as an affiliate marketer, designing ones own web pages is different from being self-employed in the traditional sense.

I wanted to start a brainstorm to see just how different.

The most significant differences seem to me to be that your hours are unlimited, clients don't tend to mess you about nearly as much and - more than anything else - you work for the client the way you want to, not the way they want you to.

Oh... not only that but also the fact that you can do a piece of work once and get paid a small amount for it every day from then on.

That's fairly different from the payment structure in most self-employed jobs.
