I'm a newbie in online business (selling web templates). I've posted this to several marketing forums and never got any answer.

I'm now getting everything arranged for AdWords campaign and an idea came to my mind whether I should try it right now or wait until Christmas is over.

Basically, what I'm talking about is that customer activity and consequently sales amount is not always one and the same, it has some fluctuations, ups and downs. I think it's not a bad idea to take this fluctuation into consideration when planning your promotional or advertising campaign. How the seasonal events, such as holidays or vacations period or some important sporting events influence the customers activity.

My knowledge about this is somewhat intuitive, certainly there is the way to make some conclusions through examining statistics but you need at least one year to get info about seasonal fluctuations of customers activity for your specific online business.

Please, advice if you know some articles, books or studies on the above topic, basically for the USA online market.

It'll be also great if you could share your experience on customer activity fluctuations

Bearing in mind that with Adwords you pay per click, even if sales are slower over Christmas then it won't hit your budget.

Well, I understand this but still I'm curious if there is any kind of research or article on online consumer activities
