Is there really a market for original content?

We've always been successful with our own sites based primarily on content. Trying to find ideas for steady income and wondered if there actually could be a market for selling content writing or setting up a deal with someone who would be more involved with the other side.

Just scratching my head a bit would really welcome ideas.
