Biz model: Rely on distributors

Edible cart items

No stock, rely on distributor

For a new site regarding specialty foods
I would like avoiding purchasing and stocking

Has anyone used that biz model?

1)Get a written agreement with a distributor
2)Sale the products and get payment
3)Order the item (distributor does S & H)
4)Pay the distributor and keep the difference in between what was the selling asked price and distributor price.

Is it doable?

Is there a better model still avoiding stocking?

I did not know anything about the concept!
