FAX Through a Cell Phone

Can it be done?

Anyone have any experience with sending a fax through a cell phone? I was thinking of running input through the headset jack - is this possible?

Ideas welcome.

I know that under GSM it is possible - after all it is just data. My Sony Ericson T68i says it can receive faxes. Never done it.

Do you have a cable to connect the phone to a PC? Most fax software can recognize the phone on a COM port and send faxes as long as your service plan supports it.

Yeah, my alternative is to sign up for an online service and use my fax/scanner. I was just hoping to save some $$.
