Hey, I love that there is a site for webmasters, I often post on one for code developers so I'm hoping that a combination of the two will help me out with this.

I am starting a Web Design business, I know, clihe, however, I needed information on taxing and registration issues.

I Know I need to register my "ficticious" name and all, However I am not sure about taxing issues. I know that there is a communication's tax in florida, but do web designers need to collect this?

I basically need legal info related to owning such a business, anyone have any help they can offer or a place to look for such information at? I dont want to miss anything and then get sued by by the goverment or something, just because i did not know I was suppose to do something.

Any help at all you can offer me would be much apreciated.

Thanks in advanced,
Ray

Best idea: hire an attorney versed in small business law, and a top notch CPA. Tax laws vary HUGELY between jurisdictions.

Welcome on Webmaster World!

Go to the nearest Chamber of Commerce
And ask to meet with a representative of SCORE
"Counselors to America's Small Business"
Is an association of retired biz execs that have a mission of helping out anyone starting a business or even helping you re routing your biz in case of difficulties

Further they are often your link to SBDA if you need a biz loan

- -By the way SCORE's service are free -

But be prepared they are precise people! And you need to have handy some good business description and possibly a biz plan and a MKTG plan
Plus some sort of CV

Good Luck

Regards
