Looking for good UK hosting

any recommendations?

Recently i've started to think of placing new domains I look after with different hosts - for two reasons:

• I don't want to keep all my eggs in one basket - I dont like the though of all my sites going down at once :)

• To see whats out there, I could stay with one host for everything but I'd never know if there were better quality and value hosts out there.
  

Obviously any company can make claims on their website and appear good but you never know what someone is like until you use them, so is there anyone out there with personal experience who can recommend good UK hosts?

Reqs: SSI,PHP,Perl,telnet/ssh access,mysql.
