Can I rave about our hosting company here?

We are a serious business web site, and have been for over ten years. During which time we have had unfortunate experiences with hosting companies.

However, we currently have a host which we should not hesitate in recommending for serious business sites. Can I rave about this host here?

We have no connection with the host other than being very satisfied customers.

No, it's against the TOS for the Webmaster General forum, and probably off-topic in this one ;)

I'm glad you have found a good host - it's always a good feeling to know you've found someone competent in such a competitive market. There are a load of hosting review websites where you can rave away to your hearts content - oh, and a written letter of compliment to the hosting company president can sometimes make the service even better!

Its like chewing gum in class. Unless you brought enough gum for everyone in the class, you could not chew gum yourself. But even if you did bring enough for someone, the teacher would not let anyone chew gum in class. :)

Hey Matt,

Welcome to Webmasterworld. Unfortunately, discussions about hosting are against TOS, as they are very difficult to keep free from bias.

I have had some BAD hosting in the past though, and was excited when I did finally get good hosting, so I know how you feel.

You can most definitely rave about the qualities, and reasons that you are so excited about your hosting company. I think these are important to all of us, and if I was missing one, I'd certainly like to know!

stuntdubl, good idea
Here is a quality that ranks very high in my own scale
(asides techs consideration)Being able to speak with someone that actually is in charge of your account and having his/her extension handy.

Okay, I shant mention them by name.

Yes I have told the boss about the good customer support provided by his staff. As you say, it never hurts, and it can be an incentive to other less helpful staff.

Having someone's extension means you're paying good money for hosting. I think it depends on what service level you are comfortable with. Honestly, I can't ever think of a time I've had to contact my web host in the two years I've been with them. They are always up and I've never had to contact them. :)
