Hi all..

My wife has had a job offer in another state too good to pass up. So we are going forward with the big move.

Here is my Questions:
My business does pretty well nationwide in the search engines, and very well regionally which has been my main intention. How will a change in region have an impact on my business site in the search engines?

The domain I have does not have regional names in it – so the domain is fine. The site is branded site-wide with my current region.

- What problems are there if I one day change my region?
- How would Google or Yahoo react to this?
- Would it be seen as nothing more than just an update of content?
- If I am dominant in one region and I move to another region how would Google react to the same content indexed in another region?

Am I thinking too much?

Appreciate the feedback.

Is there a reason you can not keep that region and simply add a new one?

Since my business office is regional, and I consult to local businesses.. I like to keep regional. I have done quite well nationwide which results in out of state work also.. but staying local is what I like.

You bring up a good point though.. why not find a way to keep marketing to the region I serve now.

Back to the topic...
The more I thought about this after my post, I don't think it will make any difference on the change of region. SE like Google would only treat it as content update - not a region update.
