I've been working for the one company for three years, now out on my own but no real web dev experience (mainly skilled in SEO). Have had one person approach me to develop a web site but have no idea how long it would take (or what to charge).

Can anyone give me some advice, am I out of my league here? Missing a bit of confidence here but know that I could do this...

The person wants a site similar to <snip>

Jaze, are you serious about developing a site? If so, you're better off doing one of three things:
1. Partner with an experienced developer.
2. Take on the first few assigments pro-bono (since you don't have any experience, the client should be willing to let you use your work in your portfolio.)
3. Take the assignment and read a lot of books and ask a lot of questions.

However, option 3 takes time, and frankly, most clients who want a website don't want to wait around for you to learn. So, take some classes, practice a bunch, and when you're ready, THEN you can begin to solicit business for your web development.

Mentors can be found at your local college/university. Lots of college computer folks need internships and they can help you with the web development while you train them in SEO work.

Good luck,

Do some deep earth mining of WW. There are some gems on starting a business, etc. I'd give you links if I could recall the threads, but here's the obvious inference: If you aren't willing to invest the time and effort in that deep mining of WW for guidance then you are not really ready to make the move.

There's gems here. I know. I took the time to write a few myself. So did a lot of other people.
