Without seeming too cagey...
Let's say the Organization itself has been in existance for 25+ years.
They have an extremely interactive website with lots of sticky appeal that has been online for, oh, around half the time the Org has.
This is a very hands-on operation which requires a high degree of dedication as the person who started this Organization is the contact person.
My question regards the most effective way of locating an entity who would take over the entire operation utilizing the same philosophy as the folks who originated it.
I never was much good at typing/thinking encryption, but I do NOT have authority to divulge more.... :)
Thanks.
Pendanticist.
This is why money was invented. It cuts through all of the personality and "good feelings" and history and makes for a number.
Is there money to be made here?
Alas, I suspect the answer is, not much.
An approach that's used in the magazine business is to look at your advertisers and see if any of them would be willing to do what's called a "sponsored" publication. They put up the money for it to be managed right by a professional and it return they get either sole sponsorship rights or premium rights to sponsorships/brand names/trade shows.
But, your problem is defined easily: Money.
There are numerous granting agencies and foundations willing to support such endeavors, especially if they match in theme or could be presented in such a way that they might serve a long term purpose supported by that particular organization.
I venture to say that *any* high-traffic web property could be packaged to obtain charitable support. I say that because I know that I could present it as a win-win opportunity.
Grants like this take a few months minimum to process.
The key question for you would be what is the burn rate for the project now, and what is the niche topic? If you can't divulge, send a note via stickymail and I will respond with comments.
