Extra domains-Better to 301 redirect, or just link?

Just a quick question:
Is it better to 301 redirect the .net and .us etc. versions of my domain name to my .com domain, or build an html page for each domain saying (essentially) "Please visit the .com version"?

I prefer a single page as you stated with a long meta refresh

Meta refresh-good idea. Any negatives (esp spider or ranking related) to this approach?

If you are using a hosting service then make those domains as "parked" domains. In this way the other .net, .us domains will load like the .com domain without any 301 redirects (coz some search engine spiders dont like redirects). All the parked domains return a code 200 (OK).
