Now that I've got your attention.. ;)

We are doing a promotional conference this autumn and will be handing out free 512mb USB Sticks to all 300 attendees. What I would like to know is how as anyone, or how would you approach designing and compiling the contents of the memory stick?

Our initial thoughts are to use a standalone flash projector (autoplay) with interactive movie. This would contain links to hidden HTML files with help/contact info + deeplinks to specific pages on the website.

Maybe add surveys? Quizzes? Games? or some other funky gizmo/widget/tool?

How about make them find pieces of clues from reading the content of the USB drive (or maybe even the website), then if they get all answers than they are eligible for bigger prize.

liking it, like a treasure hunt - must track down nobby the elephants blue shoes.... or something. Each shoe collected adds to total score... highest score wins a...

Good concept :)

If your visitors are all techies, I suggest encorporating some kind of codebreaking in the treasurehunt.

I dig those games, even when there is no prize :)

I like the idea of getting a memory stick at a conference. - Having said that, I'd just put the conference slides plus additional information on the conference venue on the stick. Make it as easy to use as possible, forget about "hidden links" to web pages. Make it as easy as possible to get to your home page and contact info.

Unless you put up a really good prize to be won, I'd not look at the game or any other stuff that resides on the stick.

Well, just my $0.02 anyway. :-)

Big fan of the flash projector file! Didn't realize that you would be able to do a autoplay upon insertion of a memory stick? cool! How much space on the memory sticks?

As an aside, is it possible/do you intend to get your company name printed on the outside of the memory sticks?

that way there some recognition long after the sticks been wiped and used for storing other doc's etc.

cheers

Our presentation will be 3mb - do you think this will be too much for old pc's?

We've decided the only visible file will be a read only icon (linked to flash projector). We want the presentation to autoplay only the first time the page is loaded, any idea how to do this?

Cheers, Limbo
