im quite a newbie, what happened is I downloaded WAMP server which comes with sql php apache etc.. all i do is upload my php files and other files to the www web direcotry folder (and then i view them by for e.g. htt*p://my-ip/test.txt), but when i turn my pc off, these are not accessible to other users from the web.. (because obviosuly if my computer is of then the server is of)

what im looking for is something where i can put my php files and my other files so the web pages are accessible 24-7, even if i turn my pc off..

i need help on this desperately, thanks in advance

You mean you need a host?

I don't think the forum allows us to discuss the virtues of hosting providers ;oP

Have a look about on your favourite SE

Hi Psycho,

What you need is an external webhost (we don't do recommendations here because of the inevitable spam it causes, so you'll need to look around). You can get a basic hosting server with php and MySQL for a few dollars a month.

The alternative, if you must host at home, is to take an old PC, install Linux on it and leave it switched on all the time.
