We're working on a new logo which looks great, but the only thing I'm worried about is it being unique. It was all custom made and not copied from any other source knowingly, but I can't help but worry that in the light of looking at hundreds of logos a day, that it isnt subconsciously copying someone else.

I've checked a lot of the "big" places and none of them are similar, but we're going to be doing a lot of advertising with it and would hate to later find out it's just like another design. What's the best way to handle a situation like this and ensure that a logo is unique?

I've worried about this myself in the past. Is your logo a icon sort of thing or a textual design? If it's a text design, I wouldn't sweat it at all. The odds of duplication would be lower, IMHO. In either case, I think you may be paying interest in advance on a debt that will never come due.
