I've seen a lot of web sites offering keyword density analysis for a given URL. However, I would like to check the keyword density of pages on my test server before I upload the pages to my actual web server. Does anyone know of such a script or should I roll my own?

You should be able to do this with the 'commercial' seo software packages, but check their features lists first (by test server you mean your home pc right?).

Physics: yes, the test machine is part of my home network. I have looked at a few pieces of commercial software but none meet my needs. I need to generate a report for 3000+ pages and I was hoping to find a script that I could hack to batch process the webpages. I guess it's time to start coding.

You might want to look around the 'free script' sites first to see if there's something you can use/adapt. Keyword density can be trickier than you think (stop words, etc...)

I already did quite a bit of looking for scripts, which is why I asked here. I'm almost finished with a very rough keyword density analyzer. I just need to show the powers that be, that if a page is about "blue widgets" but "red spatulas" has the highest density, that something is wrong with the content of the page.
