Spyware sending me traffic

Can I stop this?

For three of my sites, one of the leading referring domains is now a spyware service. I have seen it mentioned on sites about spyware.

I don't think this is costing me money (at least, I don't see how it is although I do advertise on PPC.) But it is disturbing my site statistics. Is there any way I can make this spyware service stop sending me traffic?

It is not illegal to send you traffic, unless it is causing you damages.

The only way I could see is to require a password and not tell it to the people coming from them. If they are all coming from the same IP you could ban the IP. What I would do if they are really worthless traffic is send those people to a special landing page filled with CPM ads. At least you can make $.0005 per visitor.

I'd wonder if any of the PPC traffic you've bought is being supplied through spyware/toolbars. Do you track your PPC traffic?

Yes, I track PPC clicks and visits, and these visits don't have the tracking code. I wonder if the spyware somehow strips off the tracking code.

All three domains are sites with high cost keywords in the PPC market.
