multiple words between comas to include mis-spellings

Hi, First post for me!

Just a quick question about multiple word keywords to include different variations and mis-spellings.

Would I get a positive or negative effect from search engines if my keyword tag looked like this -

"widgets, small medium large blue widgets widgits widjets"

As opposed to this -

"widgets, small widgets, medium widgets, large widgets, blue widgets, small widgits, medium widgits... and so on.

Can I target several variations without over doing the main keyword "widgets" by including them in a Single keyword - without inadvertently targeting some phrase that nobody would ever look for?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld foley651!

The keyword metatag is a very tiny, tiny, tiny factor. A large percentage of people don't even bother with it anymore. You would do much better if you included these keywords in the body of the your text.

I think it is best to find the best keywords for your website. It takes only few minutes.

Use this tool online:
[inventory.overture.com...]

Enter your main keyword and find related keywords. If your site does not receive many hits, do not choose the first three keywords... because your competitors will win.
