It is that time of year again. We have about another 1 or 2 good months until the summer hits. Then people will be using the computer less and less. And we can expect percentage of traffic and sales to slow down. In the heart of the Holiday season I was doing 350% of normal sales per day, now I am back down to the normal 100% a day. I remember last summer; it was 25-50% of normal sales per day.

I do, in a way; it's vacation traffic. My top weeks are from mid-July thru mid-August, then it declines until Christmas.

Hey selling sun tan lotion sounds like a great idea. Then in the winter we can all sell central heating, come december we can out branch to selling christmas trees then the rest of the time we can take a well earned break in the carabian waiting for out next big idea.... I know de-icer for the eskimos :)

Speak for yourself, Lisa! The months from late spring through summer are my busiest, because that's when most leisure travelers visit Europe. My traffic drops off after Labor Day and tanks in November and early December. Maybe I should start a Christmas site to take up the slack in my off-season.:-)

Well Lisa, I feel your blues. Our site drops about 20% in the summer. Who wants to sit inside on the computer when you can go hit the beach!?

I am suprised that your traffic is so high so late, rcj. Seems like people would be on there right now to plan. Or maybe I am thre only one that plans vacations in advance!

At first, I was surprised as well. We get many, many "emergency" vacation planning requests but there are a lot of off-season travelers and those that come back to the site to request "things to do" information once they have their cottages or rooms. Also, since I cover relocating, that kicks in quite a bit during and after vacations... particularly with the retirement crowd.
