Outlook Express 6 on XP

password won't stick

Recently purchased an HP notebook with XP and Outlook Express 6. No matter what I do I can't get the password to stick. Have to type it in everytime - a real pain...

Anyone else have - or solve this problem?

A case of frustration for many. It seems that you may have to edit the registry.

I found this about the password not being retained [support.microsoft.com] which may give you the solution.

The reason a password does not stick can also be dial up adaptor and protocols. Trust me I am a doctor , replace them.
The pocket book does have dun doesn't it.
