Hello,

We have companies' home site which is divided into software products pages.
Now we want to create separate web site for one product and move everything
from our site to new one.

The problem is that the page of that product, which is the part of companies' web site, has high Google high ranking for some keywords. What would be the suggestion?
How to move it without loosing search engine ranking?

We could create the redirect from old site, also to change referral links in download and other web portals.
Is it enough? Have you ever tried that?

Best Regards,
Tom

Recently had some experience with this. You need to use .htaccess (if on linux/unix server) to do a permanent redirect from the old pages/folder to the new domain. It didn't take but a day for all SE's to pick it up. The content is ranking in Google, but not "as well" as it was when it was on the original domain.
As far as links go, you'll want to get as many of those changed as possible which are coming from other domains.

I wish I felt as comfortable with moving an established domain to a new/different domain in Google nowadays.
