I created a satellite site in order to point to my main site. Unfortunately I hadn't had the time/inclination to create any unique content for that site and simply ripped-off some of the pages from my main site. Heck even the titles and menus are the same except the links point to my main site for those pages I hadn't copied. It's a relatively new domain (under 1 year). It even has a couple of backlinks but not from my main domain. It is sandboxed by Google although Yahoo/MSN happily seem to have it in their serps, and in some cases appears right there alongside my main pages listing. I'm not sure if it's affecting my rankings of my main site in Google (I somehow doubt it since it's sandboxed) but I'm concerned in case at any time Google might take it out of the sandbox and it would then trip the duplicate content filter. The are about 20 pages of duplicate content. I don't really intend to use the satellite site for anything useful for maybe the next year.
How best to deal with this site?
1) Scrap the existing pages and write 1-2 (or more?) unique content pages and then put links to my main site? How should I deal with the existing pages? Some kind of redirect to the 1-2 new pages?
2) Do some kind of redirect from that site to my main site or it's subpage? Can I do this redirect from domain to domain or would it be better to redirect each page to it's father on the main domain.
3) Put a meta http-equiv="REFRESH" tag in the head of all the existing pages to it's father on my main domain?
4) Any other suggestions or ideas?
Please include the sample .htaccess lines I would require for any redirects. Thanks.
Edit add:
PS: In 1 year I might transfer the entire sub-pages from the main domain to the satellite domain. Would this have any impact on my decisions?
