firefox temp path, where is it?

how to find your mozilla firefox temporary internet files directory

where can i find the temp folder that mozilla stores files on when you browse a site. i've been meaning to find this for a while now and never really had the chance to ask this question. seems like i could never quite find it

i'm not trying to clear it. i'm trying to find out where the it keeps it's temp files. that it sees when browsing.

Is it on Windows or Linux or Mac?
The cache is in each profile but its content cannot be used easily as far as I know

it's on windows. so you can't browse through it like you would internet explorer's temporary internet files folder? didn't know that, is that true then?

You can't browse the cache as with MSIE as the filenames are coded and some files compressed.
