Reporting on data collected from site

We have an app on our site that writes data to a SQL db. The db is chock full of useful data but as of right now we don't have a utility to help us run valuable reports.

What we need is an app that would allow us to run web-based ad hoc queries on the fly.

Cognos actually fits the bill but it is also $50,000. Does anyone know of any other vendors that can do the same thing?

I was going to recommend Actuate, but that price tag is also $50,000. But it's a great product. www.actuate.com

For a cheaper entry look at Crystal reports by Seagate.

The entry cost is much less,but licensing is much higher.
