Your opinion for best SEO CMS

Hey there.

I am building a new site and am willing to try out new CMS systems. I've toyed with ezpublish a bit but found it immensely slow (even got 17 seconds on a page). It does however have one feature that I haven't found anywhere else - the most beautiful urls I have ever seen.

Goes like domain.com/first_category/second/name_of_article_or_gallery_image/

Does anyone know of CMS systems that also have this kind of friendly URLs? Which is the best SEO CMS?

Try Mambo with Xaneon extensions. Works for me.

I read about mambo being very fast and stable, but has some design and usability issues with clicking on categories to read articles and such.

I don't think thats true. You can link directly to any content item from anywhere.

The biggest problem I encountered with Mambo was with the original SEF & non-SEF dynamic URLs. You could end up with a content page having 4 or 5 different URLs, depending on how you get to that page. As you can imagine, the result is one huge "duplicate content" mess. The Search Engine Friendly URL solutions like SEF Advance & Xaneon have more or less eliminated this issue.

I use Mambo on a number of sites with 404SEF for dynamic urls/titles and it has worked perfectly well with google. There is the issue with multiple urls for the same link, but with planning it can be minimized.

The Xaneon Extensions actually look better than the 404 SEF stuff, but that's only a part of the SEO problem. I don't see Mambo identifying article headers with H1, H2, etc. and a few other things that made a huge difference on my site with Google and AdSense.

Incredibill, the solution is a very simple hack to one of the php files. Google for mambo h1 hacks. All article headers are automatically assigned <h1> or any other tags of your choice.

I knew the solution was simple PHP mods, I'm just surprised it's not built in is all. Even decent ecommerce systems do this basic optimization so finding it lacking in such a popular CMS system baffled me to say the least.

I'm currently testing MAMBO too and I find really annoying that no "title tag" can be assigned by the user to items, even worst! --> no metadata for categories and sections :(

BTW, if anyone know of a good hack for this one I will take it, programming is a nightmare for me :)
