I am working on a site that has been around for about three years. I think I know what I want to do to make the site competitive in the rankings. However, I would like to know what everyone thinks. Basically, what are three tips that everyone would do to make a site better. Three things that every SEO would do to there site (maybe content, Linking strategies, and so on).

Thanks for your time and any advice from everyone would be great.

Hi mdewber1, welcome to WebmasterWorld! Have you read Brett's famous post Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com]? Make sure you've covered all 26 steps ;) Also, make sure to get the word out there to the (good) large and small web directories that are relevant to your site. For more info on linking strategies, you should be able to find plenty of reading in the link development forum here on webmasterworld.com

Make it so easy to use that it's painfully obvious. Even to (especially) a first time viewer.

Grab 5 people, have them try to use the site while you look on silently. Don't tell them what it's about or guide them. Take notes on what they do, try, think. Revise.

Somewhere on the page repeat any image links with a keyword text link.
