Hello... I just wanted to ask, how can I make my website mo unique? Especially using JavaScript in it, but I hope that It will work in all browsers... I want it to have many visual effects, etc... but I hope in an easy way... how will I do that? Do you think it's also advisable to use XMLHttpRequest?

I thought SWISH was just a plugin for Macromedia Flash. Does SWISH only experts the file in SWF format? By the way the ColorMixers website is really useful. I hope they have this stand-alone program so that I can use it offline. DynamicDrive is really useful for me. I just needed a script which will put some fading effects on the text and the links and add a little transition to the page, and I hope that those animations will work on all browsers. FlamingText and FlashKit is also useful. By the way, I also needed a good template for my website.. where can I get one for free? Also, my site is designed using CSS and Tables, and my website is really weird in Internet Explorer. That's why I used the Internet Explorer Fix that is from SourceForge. The only problem is, in some computers, it crashes Internet Explorer..

Please answer my question(s).

I wanted some fading text effects on the texts and links in my website.. you know.. dhtml things cute animations but i have no plans in flooding my website with stupid annyoing dhtml things.. just those fade text effects.

Improving site ranking..

i just really wanted to ask questions regarding this matter because before, my site was in the top of Google now, it's not in the top... and how will I use .htaccess to blog evil robots? Please really do help me.

First a few suggestions - you can find many threads here that address many of your questions. Try using Google with site:webmasterworld.com as one the search terms, plus keywords for your questions. Also, when you focus on one question per thread (and put that question in the most specific forum) you usually get better input.

Having unique and unusual visual effects will not have any power to move you to the top of the search engines. In fact, it may hurt you by cluttering your code. If you want something for your users, create it as simply as you can so that the extra code has a minimal "footprint" in your html and most of it falls into external .js and .css files.

Being able to get to the top of a search result and then stay there is a major challenge. Almost everyone here is wrestling with what that takes - and depending on how competitive your search terms are, it may take a lot of resources. There is no magic pill to be offered - we all need to do a lot of study and research. You are in the right spot for that, but the "answer" just cannot be given in one thread.

The best place I know of to start is here:

Also Karlo,

It would be easier to help you if you limited yourself to several questions in a post! There's so much here it's hard to decide what to address.
