How to configure TCP/IP properties behind D-Link router?

Sorry if this is out off topic.

I have NT 4, SP6, Apache and FTP server on it.
ADSL
D-link router; static DHCP IP to server machine is 193.168.0.25
If I set TCP/IP settings to 'Obtain an IP address from DHCP server and left the DNS service to provider's IP's, it works, but I constantly receive an system message: The DHCP client could not obtain an IP address. If I set the router's address, it wont work.

You didn't say which D-Link Router you have, but if it is a DI-604 or similar model, there is a setting on the DCHP tab to assign a static IP to one computer, based on the MAC address of it's NIC. If your router has this function set the static IP to what you are already using in the TCP/IP properties for the Server computer. You can set the basic IP range by opening the LAN tab, where you input the base IP and subnet, for the router itself. Then goto the DHCP page and assign the static IP to your computer and NIC, and Enable the DHCP Servcer and have it assign addresses that won't conflict with the static IP.

That is what I am doing right now, on the computer I am tying this on. My computer has a static IP and the only other TCP advanced properties are that I also added the Private IP address of the D-Link Router to the DNS Server field, which in my case is 192.168.1.1. With this setting my computer always has the same IP, but all other networked computers are assigned dynamic IPs as they log onto the system.

I may have misunderstood the problem here. After re-reading your Post I think you are already setting up the Router for a static IP but don't know how to set those settings on your computer, to match it. If that's the case, goto Start > Settings > Network and Dialup Connections (or whatever it is called on your computer), find your local area connection that you are presently using, then open the TCP/IP properties sheet. On the first page check the box for "Use the following IP address." Input your Private IP address on line one and your subnet on line two (get this from the router under the LAN tab). Next, check the box labeled "Use the following DNS server addresses." Input the IP of the router itself under "Preferred DNS server." Under the WINS tab you should put a check in "Enable NetBios Over TCP/IP" if you are on a LAN and want the other LAN computers to see your computer's name.

Thanks Wiz. That was right way. I also found a mistake, I should remove pppoe virtual adapter which was set to wrong address, so that one was a trouble.
