Question On Upgrading my phpBB forum

Hello,

I just started a forum with phpBB of which I have not opened to the public yet, but I have it online and am currently adding the boards, etc.

I see on the bottom of the page it says that I have an older version of phpBB and can upgrade to the next version.

Here's my question:

Since I just started with the board, I'm concerned if I put too much work into it, everything will be changed or lost once the upgrade is made.

Can any of you tell me if I upgrade, what will happen to the work I already did?

Right now I have FTP'd anything, just worked on the boards and some copy for each board, etc.

Your comments would be most appreciated. I was at the phpBB home page and it did not seem to help me.

Thanks,

Webseeker

I don't have many options here to delete, edit, etc, my own post or I would have deleted it...

but I have found my answer.

As long as upgrade is done correctly, everything should be in tact and no ill problems should arise.

Thanks,

Webseeker: For future reference, you might want to visit the Forum Community Building section. Everyone there is extremely helpful.

I believe the latest phpBB upgrade is 2.0.15.

If you have already made changes to your board and there is an update, what you can do is just download the patched files. Read the install or readme file and it will walk you through how to upgrade your forum. It just involves opening a few files and copying and pasting some code. It's really quite simple.

Good luck.
