Hi, i got a LAN with only 2 computers conected to each other directly.

One runs over WINXP and the other over WIN98. When i enter the "My network places" in the 98 computer i cant see the two computers, but when i try to see my network places from XP i just see de XP computer.

Also when i try to open the Internet gateway from the 98 (because the XP is the one conected to internet) it says that there was no gateway found in the Network and tells me to please check if i have an XP computer with a shared conecction conected and i do.
Please help me

Try setting each computer with a static ip address before setting up connection sharing. eg. 1 system 192.168.1.1 and the 192.168.1.2.

Most of the time the issue is with the Microsoft's very own private ip address range 169.254.something.something which is different.

For an XP box to network with a win98 box, you need to make the network set-up disk in XP and install it on the win98 box.
