displaying html code in textarea problem

**1st, could have sworn this was posted but didn't show. Anyways...

Im using Dreamweaver MX and creating 3 pages (each to show 20 banners to download each one with an accompanying textarea with the html code to be copied from). The 1st page looks great and in preview it looks good in all browsers. However, when I either close it out and reopen the page, copy/paste the whole page code into another to create page 2, the whole page goes absolutely wacked and all page graphics are gone and tables are thrown out of wack with practically all tags showing up as "Invalid markup (yellow warnings)...

As far as I understand to show html code in a page for others to copy it, you use a multiline textfield (textarea) for this. But it's causing this problem.

Here's the kicker, even if it suddenly does this, I can still preview the pages as though nothing is wrong. But to edit these pages, I will now have to do it in the code and no longer wysiwyg mode for these pages...

Any ideas what is doing this and is there an alternate method?

You might want to try "save as" as opposed to copy/pasting the entire source code.

That may work better.

Have a look into Edit / Preferences / code rewriting.

Sounds like DM is auto fixing un-nested tags.
