For the past year I have been working on my site which is in a pretty barren (revenue wise) niche, but I enjoy the topic and it has been fun. The site has grown quite a bit but I never actually considered my site an authority site.

Last week a friend of mine when to a student advisor at the University of Washington to ask a question and the advisor recommended my site!

It is kind of scary to think that what I write actually matters and people actually read it. ECK! But overall it feels pretty damn good.

Congrats and keep up the good work. A professor wouldn't recommend it if there wasn't something he found of value there! :)

I was surprised to hear from a Norwegian PHD student who had quoted heavily from my web site in a paper (he'd previously asked permission which I granted).

He sent me a copy of the paper, and it was really interesting to see my handiwork "academised".
