Does anyone recommend any services/scripts, etc. for setting up internal site searches?

To my knowledge internal searches rely primarily (only?) on meta tags and titles within the site. Are there are any tools that are more customizable, or can recognize misspellings, pluralities, etc?

You can do a Google search for "site search script" or similar term. You may also want to take a look through hotscripts.com

One script that I like is "fluid dynamics search engine". It is quite good and allows you to set up relms for different groups of pages.
