Does anyone have recent stats on how many web surfers now use pop-up blockers, or how many pop-ups get blocked by these blockers?
As for statistics, I don't have any of my own but I've heard anywhere from 20% to 60%. The FireFox popup blocker is the best I've ever used (although it does let SitePoint's onclick things through), and as FireFox usage increases, the percentages of people using popup blockers will increase proportionately. Personally I think the days of add-on popup blockers are numbered, but built-in popup blocking is likely to become a de-facto standard in browsers.
