I have several URL's that point to subdirectories in one webspace. My original host set it up so that the domain URL stayed in the address bar. Recently they got taken over by a bigger outfit Iomart and now it shoes the actual URL not the domain name that I want it to show. I asked them to reinstate it but they say they do not provide that service.

Is there any way I can change it myself?

I would change hosts but these new folks also added a fee of £45 for moving a domain to another host and with ten domains that is a lot of cash.

Are you using Apache or Windows?

A simple way would be to use Frames

The server is Apache but I do not have access to its configuration.

How will frames help? The address bar is updated on arrival at the site.

Well frames would keep it after the links. You might consider getting Godaddy to host the NDS - they will mask it for you

How can they charge a fee for moving the domain to a new host?

It is your domain move it wherever you please, they can't hold it.

Sound like a scam to me. I know they don't want to make it easy, but if you move it to a big player they will make sure it gets there at no extra cost to you other than renewal fees which should be $6-10 a year.
