creating backlinks to other pages on your website is important for search engine indexing purposes. Does it matter how this is done? obviously text links are going to be the most efficient way to do this, but are you penalized for how many links you have to your own site per page or anything wierd like that? is there a correct way to do this? would it be ok to have links to other pages in the site along the bottom of the site the same way on every page, ect? or would it be best/ most efficient to have breadcrumbs much in the way macromedia.com does?
