HP certainly have a very effective way to market this new "out branch" of their services and offerings. I expect we will see them adding applications to their computers that makes it nice and easy for HP users to use the service.

I remember my last new HP had online print services provided by a third party, they must have saw a lucratice chance.

They will also be able to puss this service by dundling software and tools with their digital cameras range.

Mack.

The most significant thing I think of when I see this sale, is whether HP plans to push print sales online or tries to increase the number of printers they sell. Ultimately, I think they'll want to sell more home printers, between the cartridges, accessories, and special print paper, it'll make more sense for them to go this route. They could offer interesting bundles and packages to the existing 10 million customers of snapfish and try to figure out how to bundle this with their existing print products/customers.

It'll be interesting to find out how much they paid for this and the features they plan to release in the immediate future. That might tell us the extent to which they plan to integrate this within their operation and how their analysts/team envision the future of digital printing.

Maybe this acquisition can be explained as a simple effort to catch up with kodak's ofoto, which they are trying to rebrand and really push hard in the summer.
