As mentioned in the post below, maybe it's the cable.
cable is new.. worked fine when it was the only monitor. Screen is not entirely blurred but looks very weak in colors and black. I move it from the pri monitor accross to the crt and it is very bad, almost like a going dead tv/crt. What would cause a weakness in quality in a dual monitor system? Could it be mem in video card? I will try and set up the single monitor on another system to see what kind of results i get. thanks..

Do you have a big enough powersupply to drive your card and everything else? I've seen powersupplies dragged completely down to the point that it hurts processor performance too. (large graphics cards, sound cards, lots of USB, etc.)
Maybe try a 500W powersupply. Also, it might be the videocard. I'm interested to hear if the monitor works well with another computer.

Test the monitor and cable on another PC. If it's ok then the either the graphics card is knackered or you've got some rubbishy color-balancing software installed that needs to be scrapped.

Tested CRT monitor and cable and it looks fine. I am almost ready to purch a new agp card with the ATI software. My next issue is to pick the correct card for my m/b. My m/b is d850emv2(intel) and Intel indicates that only the 'AGP 2x/4x card with AGP 1.5 volt slot can be used. I wanted to get something that I could also use in my next pc (d925/d915) 8x agp. (ATI software inc) Thanks Sey (AZ)
