Strange entry in web log

These entries in my apache log are strange.

***.***.**.** - - [18/Feb/2005:12:33:26 -0800] "HEAD /index.php HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "sohu-search"
***.***.**.** - - [18/Feb/2005:12:33:28 -0800] "GET /index.php HTTP/1.1" 200 63549 "-" "sohu-search"
***.***.**.** - - [18/Feb/2005:12:33:29 -0800] "HEAD /abcdefghijklmn.htm HTTP/1.1" 404 0 "-" "sohu-search"

It's uses a HEAD to get a known file and then gets it with a GET. Then it uses another HEAD to get an unknown file.

Does this behavior seem weird to anyone else?

Was wondering about this unknown file as well.

Those IPs you "anonymized" all go back to Chinanet, which in turn point back to sohu.com - a known search engine as seen in the user agent section of the log. Posting those IPs did not violate any section of the posting guidelines.
