I'm not sure if any of you are familar with startpage exchanges, but I will try to explain these programs in more detail...

Here's a description from one these program's sites:

"You change your browser's opening start page into a coded link you get from us once you have signed up. Each time you then open your browser and start surfing the web you visit a member website!

For every 2 times you open your browser you get one visit back. We use "credits" to keep track of visits you bring to other sites and other people visiting your site.

For every 2 times you open your browser you get 2 credits, For every webmaster who opens his browser and then visits your site 2 credits are deducted."

So my question is this...

Do these types of programs work well from your experience? I'm not sure how targeted the traffic is, so this may be a drawback.

Thanks.

Sounds like it would be easy for some folks to restart their browser all day just to build up credit.

I worked those things for months, never made even ONE SALE or even a free signup, for ANYTHING, at ALL. Don't bother, they suck, and the majority of them will use a hitbot to run up the "hits" you've "earned". My advice, stay away, they're a 100% waste of time and effort altogether.

Sounds to me a little like voluntary spyware.

Those programs do not work well at all. Most of the traffic you'll get from it is just webmasters trying to build up their credits to get hits to their sites.
