Mini Sites?

Taking your best keywords and building mini-sites

I have a decent sized content site.

I recently published about 150 country based articles.

Example:

Widgets in Spain
Widgets in Morocco
Widgets in Thailand
etc.. etc..

Most of these pages are doing fine in the SERPs. However, on the high paying adsense keywords my articles are not doing so well. (Basically I'm doing well on the not so popular keywords)

I am considering trying something new: making a spin off site for about 10 of the highest paying keywords.

Therefore I would register:

WidgetsSpain.com
WidgetsMorocco.com
WidgetsThailand.com
etc..

Each mini site would have 5-6 pages. While the mini-sites would be hosted on the same server as my main site they would not be interlinked with my main site or eachother.

Has anybody tried this? Have you had any success?

Correct me if I am wrong on my thinking but the "high paying adsense keywords" change often so by the time you would get the mini sites setup and indexed your high paying keywords probably would'nt be so high paying anymore.

Put the time/content that you want to put in those mini sites into your main site.
