Frames and rank

SE ranking still hurt by using Frames?

Sorry to be so remedial about this but last I knew, using frames with all the code toward the top of the page didn't do SE ranking any favors. Is this still true?

I am redesigning a site and in order to make it work the way it needs to I must use frames. This will be going up on search engines (paying for the rankings) so can I get a quick lowdown?

Very much still true. Just make sure the target frames (the content) pages are indexable. Other than that, there isn't much you can do.

If you are paying for inclusion - don't sweat it. Read the programs description - they'll take just about any old stuffed page.
