I've been running my own little humor site for a year now, and I'm getting about 500 visits a day. I don't publicise the site very much, as I started it on a lark, and thought it would mostly be seen by my sailing buddies on my favorite sailing messageboard.
But it seems to be catching on. I spend innumerable hours searching the web for content, and I get emails from people who say they visit my site every day.
Why am I here? Well, I signed up for Google Adsense, and whadda ya know? I'm actually starting to make money. So now I'm deluded into thinking I can make this into a sideline income if I work hard enough (my wife already thinks I obsess over it too much).
So I'm here to learn, and improve, and I seem to have found a knowlegeable bunch to learn from.
I won't give my url, since that seems to be against the TOS (if I understand it correctly).
I'll be looking for advice on getting more traffic, and learning how NOT to get dropped from adsense, since they seem to be the only affil program that works for my site.
I'm also looking into opening a webstore, to take advantage of my daily traffic.
Anyway, give me a warm and hearty welcome, and don't tell me I'm doomed to fail. :)
