.htaccess login form

Integrate a login form into my website, how?

Hi all, I have some directories password protected using what I am guessing is .htaccess, here is my question:

My members have to go to a web address and then enter their user and pass in a dialog box (www.mysite.com/user)

How can I integrate that into my website so it is a login form, so all members can go to one page on my main site and login that way?

My web host supports everything but asp, .net, CF and I think that’s about it…

I did a quick Google [google.com] and found that within the first ten sites, I found quite a bit of useful info. Hope all works out well!
