I need a code/databse analysis?

I've recently had my website re-developed for alot of money. Things like the admin/cms never got done, but the site is live and doing quite well. It also is fast and does what I want for now. The guy who did it is too busy to do much more work on it now so i've been looking for someone else to add new features, build a custom admin etc.
One guy took a look at a code snippet and said no thanks. Another one has taken a GOOD look at the codebase/database and is seriously concerned about it, saying lots of it has been hand-rolled and stressed his serious concerns about the design of the database etc.

Is there a company who specialise in giving site evaluations in regards to quality of design, code, expandability etc? and i dont mean companies who give free evaluations so they can then try and hard sell their own inhouse design team.

I'm just really concerned, and need someone to review the code/db.

I don't know of anyone to refer you to. I created my website after teaching myself HTML. I try to check my code at W3C:

[validator.w3.org...]

I checked your home page and it came back with 59 errors. You can check each page of your website. I find that if I have an error on one page then I try to correct the same error on all pages with similar coding.

It takes a little bit of doing but if you can narrow this list down you may be able to take care of some of the problems.

He probably means the server-side code, not the client-side HTML etc.

Dumb question I know, but what technology is site based on? PHP/mySQL? ASP/MSSQL? (or one of the many other combinations too numerous to list)

The site uses Php/mySQL/XHTML
