Hi all!

I have a growing list of email addresses that I need to send an email to weekly. To start with, I was using my email client and just sending a group mail to everyone. However, my needs are expanding and I'm not sure where to look next.

I don't want this mailing list to be going through someone elses servers - my members are very finicky that their email address not get added to andwhere that might farm out their address - and I can't blame them.

I also need something that is easy and portable - sometime in the next 2 - 3 months, I will be passing this responsibility on to someone else on my site, who may not be too web/computer savy.

Thirdly, I'd like to be able to write up my messages in advance and just actually send them when it is time.

Fourth - I'd prefer that this be done through software that is actually on my computer, and is capable of handling multiple mailing lists - some of which may overlap.

I am basing all these criteria on a software I downloaded and used years and years ago... it worked flawlessly for what I needed then, and would be just right for what I want today. The price was right - it was free. I can't remember what it was called though! If anyone has any ideas, can point me in the right direction, I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks
Jas

Just do a search on G* for "mass mail software" or something like that. You'll get 10,000+ software packages, some cost money, others don't.

You might want to reconsider not using a service. They are excellent at getting through spam filters and are usually whitelisted on the major ISPs. I have never used one that takes the email addresses and resells them. I don't think you will have a problem with that.
